Nutmeg CO2 extract

Botanical Source: dry seed kernel of Myristica fragrans  

Common names: Nutmeg, magic, muscdier, muskatbaum, myristica, noz moscada, nuez moscada, and nux moschata.  

Latin Name: Myristica fragrans Houtt  

Nutmeg belongs to evergreen tree of Myristicaceae family. Naturally, nutmeg is limited to the Banda Islands, a tiny archipelago in Eastern Indonesia (Moluccas). Main producing countries today are Indonesia (East Indian Nutmeg) and Grenada (West Indian Nutmeg); cultivated in Sumatra, French Guiana.  

Ingredients: Nutmeg contains about 5%-10% of essential oil, which is mostly composed of terpene hydrocarbons (pinenes, camphene, p-cymene, sabinene, phellandrene, terpinene, limonene, myrcene, together up to 60-90%), terpene derivatives (linalool, geraniol, terpineol, together 5-15%), phenylpropanes (myristicine, elemicine, safrol, together 2-20%) and volatile oil. Myristicin (methoxy-safrole, typically 4%) is responsible for hallucinogenic effect of nutmeg.   

Properties: Pungent in flavor, warm in nature, it is related to the spleen, stomach and large intestine channels; relaxant, sedative, digestive, aphrodisiac, narcotic and hallucinogen in excessive quantities, odorant, antioxidant, diuretic, carminative, spasmolytic, rejuvenating.

Replacement rate of dry Nutmeg with Nutmeg extract is 1 kg with 24.0 - 110.0 g correspondingly.
